[14] annulling the record of the decrees that was against us, which was contrary to us, taking it out of the way and nailing it to the cross […] —COLOSSIANS 2:14
[EDITION, October 16, 2023] José Luis Javier
After finishing the study, our brother Emigdio asked us a question, which as a result gives us a very important extension to the original study. Here is the small interaction:
[October 15, 2023 4:49pm] Emigdio
Good afternoon. Excuse my ignorance, what do the writings of Colossians 2:16? Thank you in advance.
[October 15, 2023 — 4:49pm] José Luis Javier
Well, in that little study I explain it very clearly. But here I expand a little more...
Daniel 9:25-27 tells us that With the death of Christ the sacrifice and offering were going to cease.
[8] Saying first: Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and atonements for sin you did not desire, nor were you pleased (which are offered according to the law),
[9] and then saying: Behold, I come, O God, to do your will; remove the former, to establish the latter.
[10] In that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[11] And certainly every priest is ministering day after day and offering many times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
[12] but Christ, having offered once and for all ONE SACRIFICE for the sins, has sat down at the right hand of God,
[13] from then on waiting until his enemies are made his footstool;
[14] because with a single OFFERING He made those who are sanctified perfect forever.
[15] And the Holy Spirit witnesses the same to us; because after having said:
[16] This is the pact What will I do with them? After those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, And in their minds I will write them,
[17] He adds: And I will remember their sins and transgressions no more.
[18] For where there is remission of these, there is no more OFFERING for sin.
[19] Therefore, brothers, having freedom to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus Christ,
[20] by the new and living way that he opened for us through the veil, that is, through his flesh,
[21] and having a great priest over the house of God, —HEBREWS 10:3-5,8-21
[2] And walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, OFFERING and SACRIFICE to God in a fragrant odor. —EPHESIANS 5:2
[1] For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in regard to God, to present OFFERINGS and SACRIFICES for sins;
[9] and having been perfected, he became the author of eternal salvation for all who obey him;
[10] and he was declared by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. —HEBREWS 5:1,9-10
[11] But Christ being already present, high priest of the good things to come, through the larger and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is, not of this creation,
[12] and not by the blood of goats or calves, but by his own blood, he entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, having obtained eternal redemption.
[13] For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on the unclean, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,
[14] ¿how much more the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself blameless to God, will cleanse your consciences of dead works so that you serve the living God? —HEBREWS 9:11-14
The bed prophecy Daniel 9 announces that these sacrifices that God commanded were going to cease with the death of Christ. These offerings and sacrifices were symbols of ATONEMENT for sin. Colossians 2 and Ephesians 2 confirm that “Holocaust Law” either law of ritual commandments would cease on the cross, well all this It was a symbol that Christ was going to die on the Cross, first represented in the death of LAMBS and other animals as a symbol of the death that Christ was to receive. And when Christ dies, those sacrifices are no longer needed, because “The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world” had already been sacrificed (John 1:29, 36). That is to say, the reality of the symbol has already been fulfilled. That's why when Jesus died on the cross, the temple veil was torn in two. (Matt. 27:51), for—in the words of Jesus Himself, “it is finished.” (John 19:29). His covenant was consummated to take away the first (sacrifices and offerings) for the other (his own life as a sacrifice for us and an offering to the father as a fragrant odor). No, it was not the law that expired on the cross, but the set of rites that pointed to Jesus.
The “commandments in order to rites” of Colossians 2:14-16 and Ephesians 2:14-16 are those same sacrificial rites, not the law of the ten commandments. If this were not the case, we would no longer be talking about the observance of the law after the death of Christ, something that did not happen, as we see in Luke 23:56-57 where the disciples of Jesus are seen observing the fourth commandment of the law just after the death of Jesus. Besides, What is the ritual about “thou shalt not kill,” for example? O ¿”no cometerás adulterio” u “honra a tu padre y a tu madre”?
Los diez mandamientos de la ley no son un rito, son—como su nombre así lo dice, mandamientos de Dios para ser observados por todo pueblo que le sirve a él.
Several modern Bibles distort these texts from Colossians and Ephesians by saying that the law of the ten commandments was nailed to the cross. But as we have just demonstrated, that does not fit with what happened on the cross, nor does it fit that God eliminates what man sanctifies (Num. 15:37-41). The text of Colossians 2:16 that our brother Emidgio asks the question, says the following:
16 Therefore let no one judge you in food, or in drink, or in part of a festival, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths:
17 Which is the shadow of things to come; but the body is Christ's. —COLOSENSS 2:16-17
But there is an important point to note here, and that is that the Sabbath, the Sabbath, is among the solemn festivals.
[1] The LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
[2] Speak to the children of Israel and tell them: Jehovah's Feasts, which you will proclaim as holy convocations, they will be these:
[3] Six days will be worked, mso the seventh day will be of rest, holy convocation; you will do no work; It is the Sabbath of the Lord wherever you live. —LEVITICUS 23:1-3
And if Saturday is counted among the solemn festivals, how is it possible that it was not nailed to the cross with the other festivals? Well, if you read these verses carefully, and then continue reading, we have the following:
[4] ANDThese are the solemn festivals of Jehovah, the holy convocations, to which you will summon in their times:
[5] In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, between the two evenings, is Jehovah's Passover. […] —LEVITICUS 23:4-5
Note that verse 1 prepares us for a list of solemn festivals to observe, but if you continue reading to verse 3 we see that the only festival mentioned is the Sabbath, citing it as written in Exodus 20:8-11. . Then in verse 4 the same phrase is repeated again: “these are the solemn festivals…” and from then on it lists all the ritual orders.
[9] But we see him who was made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, crowned with glory and honor, because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for all.
[17] Therefore he had to be like his brothers in everything, in order to be merciful. and faithful high priest in what concerns God, to atone for the sins of the people. —HEBREWS 2:9,17
[3] But in these sacrifices each year sins are remembered;
[4] because the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins.
[5] Therefore, entering into the world, he says: Sacrifice and offering you did not want; MORE YOU PREPARED ME BODY.
[8] Saying first: Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not want, nor were you pleased (which are offered according to the law),
[9] and then saying: Behold, I come, O God, to do your will; remove the former, to establish the latter.
[10] In that will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[11] AND certainly every priest He is ministering day after day and often offering the same sacrifices., which can never take away sins;
[12] but Christ, having offered once for all ONE SACRIFICE for the sins, He has sat down at the right hand of God,
[13] from then on waiting until his enemies are made his footstool;
[14] because with a single OFFERING he made those who were sanctified perfect forever.
[15] And the Holy Spirit witnesses the same to us; because after having said:
[16] This is the covenant that I will make with them.
[1] QFor every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in regard to God, to present OFFERINGS and SACRIFICES for sins;
[9] and having been perfected, he became the author of eternal salvation for all who obey him;
[10] and he was declared by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek. —HEBREWS 5:1,9-10
[11] But since Christ, high priest of the good things to come, is now present, through the largest and most perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is, not of this creation,
[12] and not by the blood of goats or calves, but by his own blood he entered the Holy of Holies once and for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
[13] For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on the unclean, sanctify for the purification of the flesh,
[14] ¿how much more the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself blameless to God, will cleanse your consciences from dead works so that you may serve the living God? […]
22 And almost everything is purified, according to the law, with blood; and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
23 It was, therefore, necessary that the figures of heavenly things should be purified So; but the heavenly things themselves, with better sacrifices than these.
24 Because Christ did not enter the sanctuary made with hands, figure of the true, but in heaven itself to appear now for us before God;
25 and not to be offered many times, how the high priest enters the Holy of Holies each year with other people's blood.
26 Otherwise it would have been necessary for him to suffer many times since the beginning of the world; but now, at the end of the ages, appeared once and for all by the sacrifice of himself to put sin out of the way.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment,
28 so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, without relation to sin, to save those who wait for him.—HEBREWS 9:11-14, 22-28
And let's not forget the text already presented of Hebrews 10:12-14 and where it tells us that Christ made sacrifice and atonement for sins only once. And in Hebrews 9 npos it says that the atoning blood purifies the earthly sanctuary, just as the blood of Christ purifies the heavenly sanctuary. This is the fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 8:14.
That is, there is no more intercession before the father for sin, which completely destroys the Adventist doctrine on the Sanctuary, its interpretation of Daniel 8:14. Not the doctrine of the sanctuary that is in the Bible, but the Adventist interpretation of this doctrine, that Christ bears “an investigative judgment” and continues to intercede for humanity before the Father. Hebrews 9:22-24 It says very clearly, Jesus appeared alone before the Father for our sins.
Remember that on the Cross Jesus said “it is finished.” And—if it is finished, it is because it is finished, right?
It is up to you to obey, following his example, “there is no more sacrifice for sin.” Can an Adventist understand this?
I could go on and on, but this is very clear and more than enough.
The evangelical world is full of ignorance because parishioners simply go to churches to be trained and to warm pews. Like Jews today, they don't understand the Sanctuary, where the whole plan of redemption is. They continue making plans to build a “third temple” to continue sacrificing animals, without any purpose.
Jews reject Christ, while evangelicals—and the Christian world in general—reject his law, which at the end of the day amounts to the same thing. (JOHN 15:10). And because they do not understand the Sanctuary, they reject the law of God, which is throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. And this happens through a carelessness or mediocre study of the word of God, following those dogmas of men that we already mentioned.
None of this is difficult to understand. The vast majority have simply believed the FALSE DOCTRINES of their churches and not the HEALTHY DOCTRINE that God has left in his word.
Could you understand now, brother Emigdio?
Now I leave a question to the group:
[END OF EDITION]
What is interesting in all of this is how easily you [evangelicals and Christians] reject the law, particularly the Sabbath, yet embrace a day that Rome has placed in your hands, in worship of their god, the sun:
2174 Jesus rose from the dead “on the first day of the week” (Mt 28, 1; Mk 16, 2; Lk 24, 1; Jn 20, 1). As the “first day,” the day of Christ's Resurrection remembers the first creation. As it is the “eighth day,” which follows the Sabbath (cf Mc 16, 1; Mt 28, 1), means the new creation inaugurated with the resurrection of Christ. For Christians it became the first of all days, the first of all festivals, the day of the Lord (Hè kyriakè hèmera, dies dominica), “Sunday”:
"We all get together the day of the sun because it is THE FIRST DAY [AFTER THE JEWISH SABBATH, but also the first day], in which God, bringing matter out of darkness, created the world; That same day, Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead” (Saint Justin, Apologia, 1,67). —CATECHISM THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2174 [b] The day of the Lord God [LINK, The Vatican, CristoVerdad]
Day that is not in the Bible as a command ordained by God for its observation. And Revelation 17:11 tells us that Rome is the Eighth. And that Eighth has given you the “eighth day”, Sunday.
[EDITION, Oct. 16, 2023] José Luis Javier
Here is a small complement to the information above about the Eighth, so that you can see what the Bible refers to when it says that “the serpent was crafty”—
In the magazine Adventist World April 2016 (English) they present to us how at the Kettering University of the Seventh-day Adventist Church they have installed what they call “The Wall of Creation”, consisting of the installation of “eight bronze panels, sculpted and painted, one for each day of Creation, and another to reflect the beginning of time.“ to commemorate—according to them, the creation we see in Genesis 1 and 2. The problem is that in creation we see 7 days, not 8. And the beginning of time begins on the first day, not on the eighth. However, in the catechism we see that Rome calls the first day the Eighth Day. So this display is nothing more than another deception by one of the favorite daughters of Babylon the Great.
Here I leave the document, with its translation of the page 12 of this magazine. So now you know who is moving the chips in the confines of the Adventist Church. That is, my friends, a subliminal message, but not so subliminal for those who take the trouble to study the Bible and look at the signs of the times. As my brother Miguel once said: “The Adventist Church is a Sunday church that meets on Saturdays.” and that is why we call it Eighth-day Adventist Babylon.
NEWS FROM THE NORTH AMERICAN DIVISION (NAD)
The Connection of The Creation of Kettering College
■ Kettering Health Network CEO Fred Mancur and Kettering College President Nate Brandstater pulled back the curtain on THE WALL OF CREATION installed at Kettering College in the fall semester of 2015. It consisted of EIGHT BRONZE PANELS, sculpted and painted, one for each day of Creation, and one to reflect the beginning of time. YesThree more Creation walls have been installed at other Kettering Health Network facilities.
"I have often admired the Creation Wall at some of the other hospitals in the Kettering Health Network, and I was delighted when I learned that Kettering College was getting its own," said David VanDenburgh, professor and chair of the Department. of Humanities and Social Sciences. "It is a great testament to our faith and our understanding of what it means to be created in the image of God on this earth. Genesis is a much more important part of Scripture than is commonly appreciated."
The wall is located inside the main entrance to Kettering College.

I also recommend that everyone—Adventists and Christians in general—see the entire series of The Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of the Seventh Day. I assure you that each of you will be surprised by the things presented here, that you should know, but that you do not know.
So do you still believe that the Sabbath should not be observed by Gentiles?
[42] When they came out of the synagogue of the Jews, THE GENTILES begged them to speak to them about these things on the next Sabbath day.. —ACTS 13:42
I also recommend everyone read our study on Gentiles and the Law. [and]The Law, The Jews, and You [BIBLE STUDY, CristoVerdad]
May God bless you in the truth, his truth:
[142] Your righteousness is eternal righteousness, And your law is truth. —PSALMS 119:142
[6] Jesus says to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father except through me. —JOHN 14:6
[9] So, I lived without the law for a time: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. [12] Therefore the law is truly holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
[14] Because we know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold under the subjection of sin.
[16] And if I do what I do not want, I approve that the law is good.
[21] So, wanting to do good, I find this law: That evil is in me.
[22] For according to the inner man, I delight in the law of God:
[23] But I see ANOTHER LAW in my members, which rebels against the law of my spirit, and which takes me captive to the law of sin that is in my members.
[25] I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh the law of sin. —ROMANS 7:9, 12, 14, 16, 21-23, 25
The text of Isaiah 53 summarizes all this in a direct and majestic way, which in my opinion, does not need further explanation:
[3] Despised and rejected among men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief; and as we hid our face from him, he was despised, and we did not esteem him.
[4] Surely he bore our illnesses, and suffered our pains; and we considered him stricken, wounded by God and humbled.
[5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our sins; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we were healed.
[6] We all go astray like sheep, each one went his own way; but the LORD bore on him the sin of us all.
[7] He was distressed and afflicted, and did not open his mouth; like a lamb he was led to the slaughter; and like a sheep before its shearers, he was silent, and did not open his mouth.
[8] By prison and by trial he was taken away; and his generation, who will tell it? For he was cut off from the land of the living, and because of the transgression of my people he was smitten.
[9] And his grave was prepared with the wicked, but with the rich he was in his death; although he never did evil, nor was there deceit in his mouth.
[10] With all this, Jehovah wanted to break him, subjecting him to suffering. When you have made your life ATONEMENT for sin, he will see his offspring, he will live long days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
[11] He will see the fruit of the affliction of his soul, and will be satisfied; By his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and bear their iniquities.
[12] Therefore I will give him a share with the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong; because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with sinners, having borne the sin of many, and prayed for transgressors. —ISAIAH 53:3-12
To finish, I left the group members with a question:
Apart from your observation, Why else did God give the law to Israel?
I left it for a few days but no one answered, so I see it appropriate to give the answer to close this study. But I will not give my answer, but God's:
[1] I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie, and my conscience bears witness to me in the Holy Spirit,
[2] that I have great sadness and continuous pain in my heart.
[3] For I myself would like to be accursed, separated from Christ, for the sake of my brothers, who are my relatives according to the flesh;
[4] that They are Israelites, of which are adoption, glory, the covenant, THE PROMULGATION of the law, worship and promises;
[5] of whom are the patriarchs, and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is God over all things, blessed forever. Amen. —ROMANS 9:1-5
I already mentioned before that when Israel received the law at Sinai that was simply a continuation of God's work throughout history. And here we see that it is up to the Israelites to promulgate the law. And Paul, understand this, it was an Israelite who promulgated the law to the Gentiles. That is why God gave the law to Israel, so that they would keep it—obviously, also so that they would promulgate it. I give you the task of searching in yb dictionary or on Google for the meaning of the word promulgation.
I only scratched the surface of the matter. You can leave your comments or questions below. This has been “the law” that God nailed into the hearts of those who truly love him. (JER. 31:31-33, JOHN 14:15), and I give “testimony”—with Bible in hands, that this is how it is (ISA. 8:20).
All is said. Said by God, and by his enemy, the devil. And who are you going to serve?
